Introduced a bill for absoluto prohibition, while- hie brother Representative Clarenco Funk, introduced a bill In the house at the request of J. A. Hendrlckson. It. is house bill No 4G. A bill similar to Senator Funk's bill wns introduced ' tho house b P F. Peterson. Tho senate and Peterson bills call for statewide prohibition. The bills by Senator Funk and Representative Peterson Pe-terson come from the Democrats In both houses, while tho bill introduced by Roprcsentaijvo Funk Is supposed to represent the ideas of a number of Republicans. I The insurance committee in the house introduced a bill regulating tho , fraternal insurance companies. The Dispensary Bill. Tho bill Introduced by Funk and Hondrlckson In tho house Is what Is , known as the dispensary bill It pro- j vldes that in Incorporated cities and ) towns a commission of three men may be choson by the councilmcn, alder-1 men or authorities to conduct dispen-1 saries, If the voters favor it in an olec-' tlon. Only at tho dispensaries shall liquor be sold. Stringent rules are also provided for the conduct of the places. The bill also provides for sa-soons sa-soons or no saloon, dispensaries or no dispensaries, distilleries or no distilleries, distil-leries, and that the voters shall pass on thp questions It provides that any , community can have prohibition or saloons sa-loons or distilleries. Penalties are also provided for violations of the measure The methods of election t are outlined, which shall bo called within 30 days after one-third of tho voters present a petition for the same. ! Senate Bill No. IS (bv Funk) An act to prohibit the manufacture, sale, baiter or othor disposal of alcoholic liquors, qxcept as herein provided, providing for the enforcement of tho act, together with the penalties therefor there-for and repealing title 39 relating to intoxicating liquors, subdivision 41, of section 20C, subdivision C of section 302, compiled laws of Utah, 1907, and all other acts In conflict therewith. Tho bill calls for statewide prohibition, prohibi-tion, allows the sale of liquor only by drug stores for scientific, medicinal nnd sacramental purposes.
