Show TAFT'S REPLY TO SENATOR CUMMINS Washington, Feb. March 1. Presi-dent Presi-dent Taft's response to a resolution introduced in the Senate by Mr. Cummins, Cum-mins, asking for data gathered by tho tariff board In respect to articles which tho agreement does not include, was read in the Sennto today The answer probably will prove unsatisfactory unsatis-factory to the Iowa senator unless It was his purpose to show by statement from 'the board that there has been insufficient information gathered to proceed intelligently with a tariff discussion dis-cussion of the articles named. The inquiry by the Cummins resolution resolu-tion ombraced wood pulp, paper, wool, woolen products, cloth and clothing, cotton thread, cloth and clothing, carpets, car-pets, boots and shoes, Iron ore, pig iron and manufactured Iron and steel agricultural implements, coal, meat, flour and lumber. The president transmitted tho information concerning concern-ing such articles as are included by the Canadian agreement. Ho said in his communication. "I transmit herewith a report from the tariff board giving the Information Informa-tion relating to wood pulp, and print paper and farm products (Including live stock), wheat barley and food products of the farm (Including meats, poultry and eggs, dairy products and vegetables.
