Show uu qJoQett KERR-BELNAP. One of the most brilliant social events of the season was the wedding reception and grand ball given last evening In the Weber academy in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Kerr, by Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Belnap, parents par-ents of the bride. Mrs. Kerr, who was Miss Marion Beinap, was formerly director of the kindergarten departments of the Quincy and Madison schools, while Mr Kerr is Instructor in German and Spanish in the university of Utah. Both are alumnis of the Weber academy acad-emy and are well known In local social so-cial circles. Tho large hall was artistically decorated deco-rated mh green foliage and numerous vases of pink and red roses and peonies. In one corner a pretty cozy corner was arranged and here tho happy young couple received their friends. The 'bride looked charming in an exquisite gown of silk lace, web design, de-sign, over satin -with elaborate pearl and silk trimmings. She carried a (beautiful bouquet of brides' roses. The bride's maid, Miss Flora Belnap, wore a gown of cream chiffon over lavender silk with silver trimming. The groom was attired in conventional conven-tional black and was attended by Mr. Andrew Kerr as best man. Delightful music was furnished for the dancing by Erickson's orchestra of seven pieces. Several solos were pleasingly sung during tho evening by Miss Elsie Shoiten and Messrs Orson Griffin and Lawrence Groenwell. Several recitations by Moroni Olson nnd a humorous eulogy on the courtship court-ship of the young people, given by Josoph Williams, were milch enjoyed. en-joyed. Another pleasing feature was the delicious lunch nnd wafers served by three young ladies. The evening's pleasure closed at 11 p. m. There were over 300 invited guests present. Mr. nrd Mrs. Kerr leave Saturday for a fifteen months' tour of Europe. Two weeks will be spent in sightseeing sight-seeing between Ogden and New York City. Their European destination Is Geneva, Switzerland where Mr. Ken-will Ken-will spend a year in the study of philogy. Before returning home they will tour Europe and will spend considerable con-siderable time in Germany and southern south-ern France. The best wishes of their many! friends go with them. |
