Show TO BREAK THE ML DEADLOCK i HELENA, Feb. S.-A conference of the Democratic members of the legislative legis-lative assembly for the purposq of discussing dis-cussing ways and means to D?oak tho senatorial deadlock has been called for next Saturday evening, and every Democrat has signed the agreement to attend. It Is expressly stipulated that the meeting is not to he a caucus and that no member will be bound by any action taken, although there appears ap-pears to be a general belief that a movemont will be started at the meeting meet-ing which will result in the final election elec-tion of a senator by the Democrats. By over a two to one vote tho assembly as-sembly today defeated efforts to take a second ballot. Thc motion for the second ballot was made by Senator Stout and seconded by Representative Douhoue, both Walsh men, but was defeated on a rising vote, CO to 29. The Republicans voted solidly against tho motion as did most of tho nnti-Walsh nnti-Walsh Democrats. During tho course of the Joint session, Representative Nolan, law partner of T. J. Walsh, read a newspaper dispatch showing the success of a measure In Iowa for the adoption of tho Oregon primary law, and arraigned thc Republicans whoso efforts to enact the Iowa law two years ago resulted in the defeat of the Oregon law. Sonator Whiteside today voted for Senator George and the latter arose and protested. "I am not a candidate" ho said. "If the senator wants to pay mo a compliment com-pliment let him do as 1 am doing vote for T. J. Walsh." W. G Conrad showed further advances ad-vances todav. regaining J2bert and again securing tho support of Moore, of Silver Bow. Senator Cnrter also ' set a new high-water mark, receiving 10 votes. Today's ballot, the 25th, resulted: Democrats. T. J. Walsh, 24; W. G. Conrad, 24; R. Lee Word. 2; C. B. Nolan, 1; T. M, Swlndlehurst, 1; C. B. Nolan, 1. Republicans- T. H. Carter, i 40; W. R.
