Show BOXING CONTEST TO BE HELD IN PROVO Provo, Mtsrch 31, Stove Senhouse appeared before the city commission last evening and explained his plan and Intentions In connection with the boxing and wrestling tournament which he expects to conduct here this spring. Mr. Senhouse told how such contests were conducted in Australia and stated they were popular with the public and believed to be beneficial bene-ficial to the young men who partlcl-atcd. partlcl-atcd. He slated that he intended to conduct con-duct a high class, clean sport and not to countenance anything that would approach prize fighting. After some discussion among tho members and Chief of Police V. P. Giles, It was decided that there was nothing objectionable ob-jectionable In the proposed exhibition, exhibi-tion, and that the city authorities would keep a surveillance over the events and not permit them to become be-come objectionable. This was readily agreed to and even approved by the promoters. Senhouse has not yet decided de-cided on the place where the tournament tourna-ment will be held; he has one or two places, in addition to the Provo opera house, under consideration, but he expects to have everything In readiness within tho next two weeks. |
