Show MRS WARD DEAD OLD SETTLER OF NORTH OGDEN SUCCUMBS THIS MORNING came to ogden in the early days and was a prominent member of north ogden community cars harriet ward wife of bishop jamea Ward died at the family residence yesterday at p ni in borth ogden in her ard year of typhoid pneumonia aber an illness of one week a devoted husband and nine children besides a largo ciralo of relatives and friends to mourn her josi she was born in camington lamington La england october 5 1838 of john brown and sarah bunay and baptized in 1849 by wm chapman and confirmed by john halliday alic was married march 6 1861 to james ward in the episcopal church of england by kev and sailed for america april 23 1801 in the underwriter in a company of others of her adopted faith under alio presidency of andrus homer cuncan and charles W she arrived in new york may 22 florence nebraska june 2 and at salt lake city october 4 1801 where she rejoined aci husband who had engaged with james clayton at and one hundred others erected the first telegraph line from the missouri river to salt lake city they moved on to ogden settling on acres of land now occupied by george janica and others and finally after a succession of failure of crops settled on the present residence march 19 1804 on washington avenue in north ogdan where her death occurred as stated bur rounded by her husband children and friends she was a devoted wife an mother a model neighbor and a zealous worker in the church of her choice especially in the relief society of which she was an officer many years the funeral willbe will be held next sunday |
