Show AB. JENKINS WILL TALK TO LEADERS New Rural Arts Building to be Opened 214 Delegates Dele-gates Expected. Mayor Ab Jenkins will be the guest speaker December 8 at the annual Adult Leaders training school which will be in session at the Utah State Agricultural college col-lege December 2 to 13, Director William Peterson announced on Mayor Jenkins will speak on safe driving and tell of his experiences ex-periences as holder of numerous speed records before the 214 delegates dele-gates from 29 counties of the state. Other guest speakers from Salt Lake City include Dr. John A. Widtsoe, Arthur Gaeth, Mrs. Mar-cie Mar-cie Howells, Raymond Miller, Mrs. Rena B. Badger, Tracy R. Welling, and Father Martin E. Sherber, Logan city and the college faculty will be represented on the program pro-gram by F. P. Champ, President E. G. Peterson, Director Peterson, Dr. N. A. Pedersen, W. W. Owens, Miss Myrtle Davidson, Dr. C. J. Myers, Dr. R. H. Walker, H. G. Folken and others. Miss Ella V. Reeder of Brig-ham Brig-ham and Ward C. Holbrook will represent the state Farm Bureau Federation. Delegates will be assigned to 12 committees, Director Peterion said, including farm management, finance, fi-nance, cooperative marketing and organization, dairying, family buying buy-ing practices, gardens, beef and hogs, poultry, youth; land, water and climate; crops and fertilizer, housing and storage. "The new Rural Arts building will be thrown open for the first time to accommodate the leaders. Meetings will be held there In the auditorium and living quarters quar-ters will be provided in the various var-ious rooms of the building. The theme of the leadership school will center around the problem of how Utah can best assist in the agricultural defense program by making farms, flocks and herds more productive and by operating farms and homes on high economic standards. |
