DUNJi OF LOGAN, UTAH In this important election of 1940, no more important selection select-ion is to be made than that of District Judge of the First District. Dis-trict. I Charles W. Dunn, respected and successful Attorney , is the nom-.inated nom-.inated candidate on the Republican Republi-can ticket for this position. Born fifty-five years ago in Brigham City, Box Elder County, Utah, he moved to Cache Valley with his parents and spent his boyhood and early manhood upon a tarm, thus coming in contact with, and acquiring a sympathic appreciation of, the problems and experiences of the Farmer. Attending the public schools of the County and graduating from the old Brigham Young College Col-lege at Logan, with the famous class of 1905, Mr. Dunn first engaged en-gaged in teaching in the public S schools of Cache County for four 'years, following wihich he acted I :as Clerk of the District Court ifor four years. He' later studied and took up the law as a profsss-jion,- being admitted to the Bar of the State of Utah, and to practice pr-actice in the Federal Courts in I March 1916, and to the Supreme Court of the United States in ljune 1931. He has had a varied and ex-' ex-' tensive practice in Northern 'Utah and Southern Idaho for 24 years, and because of his training and experience, and by reason of his broad tolerance is especially fitted fitt-ed to occupy, this vital position.! His family consists of his" wife. the former Lula Schenk and their ten children who are receiving the advantages offered by the schools sc-hools and the College. Mr. Dunn has also been active in various civic and religious capacities, cap-acities, among which may be mentioned; men-tioned; Juvenile officer, President Presid-ent of Cache County Bar Association, Associa-tion, Ward Bishop, Stake President Presi-dent of Mutuals, High Councilman and member of Stake Presidency, and he is now President of the Logan Stake. ,He has a deep interest in, and sympathy for, young people and seeks to understand and help th- em in their problems. He holds that the Courts should shou-ld be free from all political and selfish influences and that they should be Courts of Justice and equity as well as Courts of law.
