Show Phosphate Now Available To Utah Farmers Treble super-phosphate fertiliser will be made available to Utah farmers this spring at a grant of aid, Joseph Skeen, of Warren, members of the state AAA committee, com-mittee, with headquarters at the Utah State Agriculutxal college has announced. He explained that under grants of aid, farmers of the state who are cooperating in the 'AAA farm program may obtain phosphate for application as a soil-building practice and have the cost of the fertilizer deducted from payments they earn under the 1941 program. pro-gram. Ths phosphate, obtained under grants of aid, is to be applied only to established stands, or in connection with the seeding of, perennial or biennial legumes, perennial per-ennial grasses, permanent pasture, . rr in connection with green ma- nure crops in orchards. The maximum amount of phosphate phos-phate which" may be furnished as grant of aid to any producer will be an amount not to exceed in cost 8 per cent of his soil-build- , tag payment or 50 percent of his total payment taking into account ac-count increases in small payments and allowances under the program. Under grants of aid, Mr. faKeen explained, a cooperating farmer may obtain the phosphate he needs to bund up the fertility of his farm without having to pay for it at thetime he receives it. By applying the phosphate to legumes and grasses he can earn a pay- , ment of $1.50 for each 100 pounds of 4S per c-ent super-phosphate.
