Show Lewiston Man Reelected Bureau Prexy Directors of the Cache county Farm Bureau reelected President E. E. Hendricks of Lewiston for his seventh consecutive term at the annual meeting Monday. At the meeting, election of officers offi-cers was held, the . group voted against staging a county fair this year and heard Selvoy J. Boyer, executive secreary of the state Farm Bureau organization talk on the need for farm organization. Alfred Gnelim of Logan was elected vice president and V. Allen Olsen of Young, secretary treasurer. treas-urer. They succeed Nephi Nielsen of Collge ward and N. J. Crook-ston Crook-ston of North Logan. The directors, acting for the 1,000 bureau members, passed a resolution "pledging all out aid for food production this summer.''"Mr. Hendricks pointed out that "Farmers "Farm-ers of Cache county, as well as all other areas, must accept the responsibility of producing more food so that this nation and her allies will not face starvation in the coming years. "We can meet labor problems and work out price schedules," he said, "but the big thing is to produce pro-duce more food." Mr. Boyer declared that "no farmer now has a right not to grow the crops needed by the armed forces and allies." He also discussed the legislative program being introduced into the present session and some of the difficulties they are meeting with. The county fair, sponsored by I the Farm Bureau, was cancelled in 1942 because of war conditions. A county appropriation for the event this year Is expected to revert re-vert to the general fund as was the case last year, in view of the board's action. |
