This will be the only visit in this district dis-trict he will make. His itinery permits but a brief visit. Ladies of Kiwanis will be honored hon-ored guests at a luncheon, slated for 12 noon to 2 P. II. The event is strictly informal. Immediatily after the luncheon, all visiting guests can mingle with ''Mark" as long as they may during the afternoon. CLUB ACTIVITY 'e community leader falls in rime. Musicial numbers on the pro-r-am were two violin duets, by iiss Aileen Van Orden and Miss lunice Hillyard, accompained by 'iss Marva Lou Hillyard. The umbers were Dream of the Shep- "erds and 0' Sole Mio. The club had as visitors, Earl VcClurg, manager . of the Main Theatre and Harold Deppe, of Boise, Idaho. i The members who missed this I meeting were the loosers. TREES PLAXTED Leo Nelson was instrumental in securing two Blue Spruce trees to be planted in place of some of the trees that have died, at the Kiwanis Park. The planting has been done, the only catch being, these trees are planted in memory o the deaceased Kiwanians of the club, and upon investigation we find we have one more tree than we have deceased members. Who says we're not up to the minute. PRESIDEXT OP KIAYAXIS IXTEfiXATIOXAL TO BE EXTEIiTAIXED. Mark A. Smith, of Thomaston, Ga., president of Kiwanis International Inter-national will be entertained at a President C. R. has ask for ' suggestions for a project for the club, to' try and raise some money for club activities. This is your chance fellow members to promote pro-mote some ideas of yours, of how to get rich quick. Lets have some suggetsions. FUTURE MEETINGS The next meeting March 13, will be business meeting. We have several Civic projects under discussion dis-cussion so lets all be out and try to get some action on some of them. The meeting of March 20, will be a luncheon meeting, and will be in charge of the Music and Reception committee, with Clayton Clay-ton Raymond, chairman. "The curse of the world is ignorance. The wealth of the world is Intelligence. But let us not fool ourselves by thinking that book learning is intelligence. A good memory puts a man at the head of the class; but not nessarily at the head of an enterprise. Originality, Or-iginality, enterprise, and good judgement make men get ahead, and with these qualities goes that called service". Clipped. |
