What do you think the Jack Nicklaus announcement an-nouncement will mean for summer business in Park City? Amanda Peterson The inceDtion of the Park M Meadows Country Club, the only one so far in dicated in me west, win Dnng tremendous exposure ex-posure to the area. It will undoubtedly be a major contribution to the growth of the community com-munity and tourism in our area. It's an honor and privilege to have Jack Nicklaus become a working part of our community. Don Woolstenhulme It will have a definite effect and will probably increase business anywhere from 30 to 50 per cent. Dan Parker It will be a great attraction, not only his name but the course itself. We'll have an all-around summer and winter area which is what we've got to do. Rob Morris Along with the Holiday Inn, it means haut kay-kees ! Patti Wells The new Jack Nicklaus association with Park City skiing in the winter and golfing in the summer will be outstanding publicity for our town. A Jack Nicklaus golf course will be instrumental in-strumental in attracting golf clinics and conventions. conven-tions. In short, it will enable Park City to become a summer destination resort. This, in turn, will boost summer activity for the Park City business community. Dick Wilde If the golf course is done right, and I'm sure it will be, it'll do a lot to stabilize the summer economy in the town and with a name like Jack Nicklaus, it's bound to give us nationwide nation-wide coverage. I think it's great! M0S b fhe Ector Don Woolstenhulme ff f. J .... . -.. Rob Morris rf -4- ' '1 ,.TVk OK"" i 1 SLi-.V ..;.-.vv ! I had worked very hard to get the Motor Vehicle Division, Divi-sion, of the State Tax Commission to come to Park City, on a part time basis, and give the people there the service I felt they were justified in receiving. As the letter states it was tried for three months and they say it was not justified on a half day a week basis. We will now offer this service, changing titles, selling sel-ling new license plates and issuing license renewals the second Tuesday of each month starting April 11 from 9 to 4 at the Memorial Building. I would appreciate you publishing this notice with a copy of the letter so the people in Park City would know it is not my decision to change this service. Sincerely, Leo O. Frazier Summit County Assessor Dear Leo: This letter will confirm our telephone conversation with regard to the reduction of title and registration service in Park City. The Park City office has been open one half day per week since the first week of December 1977. Although this period covers the high volume months of January and February, we have averaged only 15.5 transactions per week. We are interested in providing provid-ing this service but feel it should be done on a more equitable basis. The present low volume does not justify the time and expense involved. in-volved. With a full ' day service once a month, we feel that we can adequately take care of the title and registration needs of the Park City area. The schedule that we proposed pro-posed to you will become effective April 11, 1978 and continue on the second Tuesday of each month thereafter. We recognize that there is a need for our mutual cooperation in order to establish a successful operation. Your cooperation in the past has been appreciated appreci-ated and we are looking forward to a continuation of this "relationship. Sincerely, Phillip E. Procter Executive Secretary Utah State Tax Commission Special Thanks Editor: The Red Banjo Thrillseekers softball team would like to extend their special thanks to all the supporters sup-porters who showed up for our fund raising brunch last Monday. We want to especially thank the people who donated food and paper goods, Erne Scow, Jim Mur-nin. Mur-nin. Day's Market and The Newspaper. We had a great time preparing this brunch, and we're planning a luncheon lun-cheon next month. Thanks very much for making it a profitable event and enabling us to buy new uniforms and equipment for the upcoming season. An extra ex-tra special thanks goes to our sponsor, Mary Lou Toly who donated all her time and incredible effort. Without her none of this would have been possible. The Red Banjo Thrillseekers Dog's Eye View Editor: Last year I was a new face in town. My family and I moved here to get away from crowds, congestion, bad air and traffic. We arrived arr-ived in the early spring and marveled at the beauty and 'rtedom we found. As the weather warmed the family and I began to go on nature hikes, exploring every hill around, nothing was too small to receive less than a thorough inspection. This is jus what we had always . wanted, nature at our front door.
