Show Wednesday; September 1 ,1 976 Page 3 r Mas terP . Pressure from local citizens has. resulted in some major revisions in Park City's proposed Land Management 'Code. ';. Responding to protests registered at an August 5 public hearing on the revised zoning, following which the ordinance was defeated by a 3-2 city council vote, the Park City Master Plan Committee Monday night ' formulated a new residential zone and moved to reinstate spot commercial zoning on Park Avenue. NewZone The new addition, tentatively tentative-ly labeled RDM, is a medium density residential zone to be applied at the north end of the city limits. Uses from the less restrictive restrict-ive RM zone and the more restrictive RD zone were combined to produce the infant RDM. The major Sewer Board Sets Sights On Federal Funding The Snyderville Basin Sewer Sew-er Improvement District board decided Tuesday night, ni-ght, August 23, to actively pursue federal funding of the district's proposed sewage treatment plant. ry' nr. -,y.. Tb Ifowd jautlwwiwdji Engineering, desiginers of the plant, to fly a representative representa-tive to Denver, Colorado to lobby federal officials for 100 percent financing of the $14 million treatment facility. Call official Jim Kaiserman, , present at the Tuesday night City Hall meeting, told the board that the Snyderville sewage project is in a state of' readiness which makes it a prime candidate for funds , recently made available. There are only three projects pro-jects in Utah that are in a position to compete for Utah's 83,132,73) allocation for waste water treatment, Kaiserman said. The passage of Senate Bill 3201 on July 22 made $2 billion available for public works projects in areas hard hit by unemployment. Title III of the same law provides for an additional $700 million for waste water treatment projects, from which Utah' will receive its $13 million. In a letter dated August 5 Ivo D. Mills of Call reported to the sewer board, "..our Softball Tourney This Weekend Park City's , Fourth Annual tion tournament will host Slow Pitch Softball Tourna- teams fromUtah and Colorado inent will be held in City Park .starting a 9a.m. Saturday and over the Labor Day weekend, running through Monday. RDM would allow single family houses and duplexes as permitted uses and three and four unit buildings as conditional uses. Planned unit development provisions are also included in RDM which means that up to 8 units could be built on one acre of land. A single family dwelling in the RDM zone would require a 9,000 square foot minimum lot size as opposed to 2,812 sq. ft. in RM and 12,3)0 in RD. Duplex lots, would have to be 14,000 sq. ft. in RDM while RM calls for 3,73) and 17,000 is needed in a RD zone. In a related discussion, Kaiserman advised the board that should the ' federal funding prove unobtainable and should the sewer district be dissolved, it was unlikely that the Environmental Protection Pro-tection Agency would try to recoup its funding of the district .to date, which Park , City Recorder-Treasurer Bruce Decker estimates to be in , excess of $100,000. The sewer board recently enacted a two mill levy on district property owners' which is expected to generate $32,000 for continued financing financ-ing of the Snyderville Basin Sewer I mprovement District. one year $10.00 out of state. Map Change Two major parcels of land are expected to fall under the new zone:v a 19.5 acre piece of property adjacent to and east of Highway 224 owned by the Royal Street Land Company and an 11-acre parcel north of Highway 248 owned by Alan Frandsen and Bill Blonquist. Both of the land owners had requested com-, mercial zoning. In addition to the new RDM zone, . the Master Plan Comittee will recommend that, a "grandfather clause" . be included in the land code which would allow the building of duplexes on lots purchased for that purpose in Prosepctor Village I. flmv sis 4t; tiiiMnia ! m- Summit and Wasatch Counties DEMOLITION DERBY CHAMPIONSHIP LABOR DAY, SEPT. 6 AT 4 P.M. $200 First Prize Plus Trophy 1 MILE WEST OF KIMBALLS JCT.
