Show monday, i Astron goes to basics under new management month. by James M. Schutz Enterprise Staff Writer 'Yates Astron Energy Companies has come a long way since the high flying days of Brazilian and European markets. It was less than a year ago when the Salt Lake based manufacturer of carburetors was talking to brokers and investors about saturating domestic and foreign markets with the new gas saving device. The tone at the company has changed drastically, and the new tempo is now controlled by an experienced manager, Charles Moxley. Listen to Moxleys production schedule, and see the change. Our schedule starts with a batch of 25 carburetors, which will be installed locally, for 5000 mile tests. Then well run one batch of 500 units, which will be primarily installed in the Utah area, but a small sample will go outside the state. If all goes well, well start a production run of about 2500 per month. When will the company finally begin the 2500 per month production runs? As for the International marketing efforts. Moxley says those have been temporarily shelved. Afterall, he says, if we cant sell them in Utah, why bother trying to sell them elsewhere. The six month schedule is the result of a number of constraints. First of all, Astron needs money,, and plenty of it. Right now Im looking for about $2 million. We need it to get this production set up in the right way. The other constraint is product knowledge. Were excited about Astrons carburetor, but we need more tests. The new capital needed to finance full scale production will not come easily. Moxley admits that raising the funds has been the overriding concern of his management of Astron since assuming the presidency in early March. Moxley feels the private placement route will yield the company the greatest benefits.
