Show w 2monda l4 Trans Western Airline optimistic after 400 sales growth climb With sales already up more than 400 percent over last year, the new owners of Trans Western Airlines Utah operation have high expectations for fiscal 1978, anticipating gross revenues well in excess of $500,000. Edward Allen said Trans Western Airlines of Utah is an offshoot of Trans Western Airlines, Inc. of Denver, and was purchased by three investment groups for an undisclosed amount in December. The original company still operates a flight from Denver to Albuquerque, but all Utah flights fall under the new, and apparently prospering, corporation. Owners of Trans Western of Utah are Airway Capitol Inc., owned by Carl Malouf and Allen; Condor Investment, owned by Karl Seethaler; and Venture Investments Inc., owned by Dennis Griffith and Stuart Waldrip. The five men have substantial experience in the aviation field, Allen added. Seethaler said the company was a mere shell when purchased, and equipment has been added at the rate of one plane per month since Decern- Part-own- er ber. The firm now operates flights between Salt Lake and Vernal, Roosevelt, Duchesne, Price, Moab, Monticello, Blanding, Provo, Ogden, Brigham City and Logan. And next month, TransWestern expects to add two revenue comes from businesspeople, expects to add two daily round trips between Grand Junction and Salt Lake. About 90 percent of our revenue comes from businesspeople, Allen explained, with half of the fares originating in Salt Lake and the other half originating in the outer towns. The market has always been there, but until (theyre easy to like.) Allen estimated the companys worth at $1.2 million, and said while the firm received FAA and PSC authority with the purchase as well as the lease for a gate at the Salt Lake International Airport, it will be adding a sales booth at the airport this month. The booth is under construction in the main terminal. Dan Maddern, assistant chief pilot for the company, has been named new general manager for Trans Western.
