Ellsworth. Revenues for the year rose to $2,529,899, compared to $2,008,571 in 1977. Operating income for the year was $268,176 compared to 1977s $197,815. Net income for the year, however, rose only five percent to $151,280, or 19 , cents per share, compared to $143,801 or 18 cents a share in 1977. Ellsworth cited four reasons for the small increase in net income: startup and first year expenses for the companys new pharmaceutical packaging joint venture, the implementation of a new employee incentive plan, a tax loss carryforward for fiscal 1977 applied against that years tax liability, and a gain from the sale of property in 5. ; 1977. !
