While they were Rent A Cars, Avis maintained them under its Car Care Program and Quality Assurance Inspection. Then we even added a limited powertrain warranty. Yearlings look g good. Because Avis kept them young. good-lookin- an important Export documentation serves many purposes one being to support the legality of the various phases of the transaction. There are two general categories of documents. those used for shipping and those used for collection. Shipping documents include domestic bill of lading, packing list, export license and shippers export declaration. 1 have already covered the packing list and bill of lading in a preceding column. An export license is an authorization to ship goods to a foreign country. The U.S. Department of Commerce issues two validated and general. The type of types of export licenses license required is determined according to the Schedule B number in which your product is classified. The U.S.D.C. Bureau of the Census publishes a list of Schedule B commodity numbers from which you can discern the most appropriate one for your product. A validated export license permits the exportation of defense materials, highly technical communication and electronic equipment, certain chemicals and plastics, and items such as petroleum or food products which may be temporarily in short supply. Receipt of an order is required prior to application for a validated license. Also, an import license (from countries requiring them) or an authorization from the buyer's government must accompany the request for the export license. The U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of East-WeTrade, Exporters Service Section, 14th and Constitution Avenue, Northwest, Room 1613, Washington, D.C. 20230, is responsible for issuing such licenses. General licenses apply to commodities not subject to a validated license and include most products shipped overseas. An application and written authorization are not required for commodities falling in this category. The symbol for the general license utilized is simply inserted in the shipper's The most common designation is export declaration. assigned to goods not requiring a validated license. The shippers export declaration is required jointly by the Bureau of the Census and the Bureau of International Commerce. Information gathered from this form is used to compile U.S. export statistics. The declaration also serves as a control mechanism for exports. The export declaration is normally prepared in triplicate by the foreign freight forwarder and includes such information as the Schedule B number, type of export license used, method of transportation, port of export, port of unloading, country of destination, etc. Only shipments valued in excess of $250 are subject to this requirement. The collection documents are more numerous and are required by the buyer or his bank before payment is made. Collection documents may vary from one country to another Dun & and individual requirements must be investigated.
