Peter Cooke, Director of Government Affairs, is coordinating the study, aided by Chairwomen of two Chamber committees, Deedee Corradini of Snowbird Corp. and Stephanie Churchill of the tah Historical Society. In addition to the county grant, the Chamber is seeking an additional $10,000 from the city commission for a similar study of the city government, Cooke said. He explained the money would go toward hiring a team of consultants to help analyze G &R Contractors and compile data provided by the local governments. Although the city and county departments do gather information, Corradini has explained, they do not evaluate or analyze it. So although information about government operations is available, it is not often used. In an earlier meeting, Cooke told committee members, This task is a major victory for the business community. This is our opportunity to establish a power base in the local government. In the past, studies of local governments have been only recommendations, not necessarily based on facts, Corradini has said. She told committee members, Its about time we looked at government from the services aspect.
