The group is. under the direction of Mrs. Gayle C. Nemelka, who Is assisted by Edna Cook and Kaye Foss. The youths meet outside their regular class time two or three times each week to learn and prepare new songs for presentation, TO DATE, 30 students have signed up with the chorus for this year. Last year a total of 55 participated. However, this year's figure is lower because of the lesser number of students attend Plymouth because of a shift in school boundaries. The chorus gave 12 programs at last year and appeared church functions, school assemblies and community affairs. They have already given a performance this year. THE APPEARANCE was at a meeting of the Association of Childhood Education held recently in Salt Lake City. It was a . state conclave for all teachers. The Plymouth youths have learned and memorized over 40 various musical selections. They sing popular hits, lullabys. hymns and seasonal songs. Last year's favorite selection of the youngsters was "Harbor Lights". AT EACH performance, the group sings about 1,5 selections. Parents bf the students help In furnishing transportation for the chorus members when they perform and in seeing the youths are at school early for rehearsals. "One thing I'm really proud of is their ability to do two-pasinging," Mrs. Nemelka said. "This type of singing Is usually done by older and more experienced children."
