Pleasant and Sanpete County in general the article which appeared in The Pyramid Shopper, dated Dec. 18, 1996, page four, titled, "Reduce Risk of Earthquake Harm. " Had city officials done a little objective reading when they received a written complaint dated Jan. 25, 1996, or even listened when Ed Short recommended tie downs on mobile homes along with his statement to the effect that axles and springs should be retained on units. He asked a question in regard to the axles and springs, "How can you keep people from selling them?" The ordinance, which still does not address this problem, could have been structured easily to avoid this problem. Mr. Glauser removed the axles and spring assemblies and subsequently advertised them for sale. When this was brought to the attention of city officials, it was ignored. For a mayor that expresses concern for the safety and welfare of citizens of the municipality, we cannot see where he has proven it. In retrospect, we must of the city point out the to have the mess removed from lot HI in Aspen Village, the burned out mobile home has been removed, but the mess of broken glass, fiberglass insulation, used sewer pipe and burned debris MT. The party was under the direction of the presidency: Carolyn Christensen, Angela Wright, Dawn Allred and Betty Aagard; and homemaking committee: Diane J. Nelsen, Karolyn Bailey and Paula Peck-ha- remains. This is a definite safety hazard to children who are now playing in the area. One resident stated that he had made two formal complaints to the health department. Mr. Glauser was informed to remove the hazards. We were told by two different reliable sources that Mr. Glauser had made the statement, "I am going to make it as rough as possible for those people." From our standpoint Mr. Glauser did just that-fr- om day one. A said official they would tell city Mr. Glauser one more time to clean up the area and if he didnt they would send a work crew to do it and bill him accordingly. Three months seems a little long for any action to be delayed or ignored by city officials.
