Magelbys position will be filled by Russell Cowley, who has been serving as director for Six County Economic Development District. Magelby spent 19 years of service to the region. He was hired as director of employment and training in 1977. He was appointed executive director in 1980, serving in both He capacities simultaneously. also served 20 years as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. As an executive director, he maintained unity between the many departments and staff administered by the organization, including Aging, Human Resources, Weatherization and Heat Economic Assistance, JTPA, Development, Public Health and Mental Health. Because of recent precipitation and cooler temperatures the state forester, officials of the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service are lifting the ban on open fires. Frischknecht will represent more than 700 Utah dairy farmers, according to a press release from the Utah Dairy Commission. He and his wife, Kathy, milk 150 Holstein cows on their 875-acKing Dairy farm. They also raise beef cattle and grow alfalfa and barley. Frischknecht has been a board member of the Utah Dairy Commission since 1994 and was recently named He has been secretary of the Utah Dairymens Association since 1992. Named Conservation Farmer of the Year by the Sanpete County Soil Conservation District in 1993, Frischknecht serves re n. president of his county Bureau organization.
