Show Soren . Jacobson Dead After several days illness the call of death came at the home of Soren J cobson an 1 took the aged pioneer to his final resting place. Mr. Jacsbson was born in Astrup, near Aarhus, Denmark, January 26, 1837, being 75 years old at the rime of his death, He joined the Latter Day Saints church when he was 19 years old and spenr. five years in the old country doing missionary work. He came to Utah in 1862, crossing the plains with an ox team. He was among the .first settlers who went to Richfield and there took part in the conflicts with the Indians. Soon after he moved to Mount Pleasant. ' In 1S73 Mr. Jacobson worked on the St. George Temple and in 1882 he performed missionary labors in the Northern Stat?s, having been a member of the High Council for several sev-eral years. Mr. Jacobson is survived by a wife and six children: Charles, Clarence, Mrs. Serena L. Larsen, Mrs. Annie J Wall, Mrs. ElzinaJ. Madsen, and Mrs. Mina J. Guiver. Funeral services over the remains of Brother Jacobson were held in the South Ward meeting-house Monday Mon-day afternoon at 2 o'clock. |
