Show An Explanation j i Mt. Pleasant, Utah. October 1, 1912" Permit me to offer this explanation through the columns of your valued I weakly. I In assuming the responsibility as numaeer of the Sanpete Valley Creamery Co., I feel keenly my task. I I say without fear of contradic-'j tion that I have never sought this position and accepted it only upon j the earnest solicitation of a number! of my fellow townsmen. j The salary of $50.00 per month ; with a promise of an increase is not at all tempting to me, when meas-' ured by the price of titles which every ev-ery creamery man is given, viz: Robber of weights, tast, price, etc.,! but I have only one aim in view to ; manufacture the best butter in Utah. ' to sell at the best price, to deal with ! reliable firms, and to do what I un- j ilerstand to be right, even if I may be j culed anything but; a descent man in the near future. The article published under the . heading NOTICE, is not intended to : injure Mr. P. J. Tvilling in any way, j but simply as is customary to show 1 th.it his c )n:iejtio.is no longer re main with this creamery. To him is given the credit, in connection with i-.is son Henry, of making Utah's very best butter. Do not forget t hat Mr. Tvilling started this cream-i-ry without capital, and against all odds of opposition. Indications are' that he may start up othor creameries creamer-ies over the mountains, if so, we hope that when he leaves us he may have - received every dollar due him for butter, and may Le able to pay in full every milk producer for his milk, i very hauler for his time, coal items pad all expenses he has h -id, and have money to spare, we hope so. After today I am responsible for all milk received, for the fixtures on hand not paid for, and for all expn-e bills I may find necessary to make, as your hired servant. Upon failure to meet these I expect ex-pect to loose my salary and nothing more. But, we sha'l not fa'l, all shall get their just dues, the haulers, but'.er-mnker, but'.er-mnker, and hired help snail be given better wanes as we grow. The good c:tiz?ns of North Sanpete will back up this creamery, with necessary capital stock, so they have said, or J should never have given upmy egg business, for this every day in the year grind. Yes, we need your support, lay down your hammer, while some are doing all they can to build up, don't knock, don't say, "why don't they do it some other way. Boost, boost, and build up a good creamery, it will build up our country, coun-try, will keep up the price of hay and land, and bring a few thousand dollars dol-lars to our town every month. Respectfully, J. 0. LOFGREX. |
