Show MORONI I 1 By Specal Corespondence Marriage Announced Mr. and Mrs. Leo Morley announce an-nounce the marriage of their daughter, Verdean, to Mr. Val Daniels of Roseburg, Oregon. The ceremony was performed on July 2nd at Kearns, Utah. Miss Morley was a graduate of Moroni high school and also attended Snow College after which she has had employment in Salt Lake City for the past four years. The young couple plans to make their home in Oregon and they have the best wishes of their many relatives and friends here for a long life of happiness and success. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Seeley of Mt. Pleasant are rejoicing over the safe arrival of a baby girl on June 30th at the Dice hospital. Bernus Blackham is at the Dice hospital where he is recovering from an appendicitis operation performed on Saturday. The Jr. Sorosis club members and husbands,planned a' surprise and house warming party last Monday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph N. Revill. The time was spent in playing games after which delicious refreshments refresh-ments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Christensen, Mrs. Harold Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. Heber Christensen spent Monday in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Armond Bradley visited with relatives and friends here last Thursday. They have resided at Bell Gardens, Calif, for the past year and are now on their way to Logan, Utah to visit her parents there. Douglas Bradley has been visiting vis-iting with relatives and friends here, but left for Magna, Utah this week, where he was employed em-ployed prior to going into the U. S. Service. Dee and Betty Whiting of Salt Lake City were guests Tuesday of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mc Kinnon. Memorial Services Held Sunday Memerial Services for First Lieutenant Clair J. Bardsley, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Bardsley of Gunnison were held last Sunday, June 30 at 2 p. m. under direction of Bishop Elmer Nielssen. Lt. Bardsley had previously been reported missing in action Oct. 24, 1944, and reported presumably pre-sumably killed in action in the Dutch East Indies as of that date. He was a native of Gunnison, born March 7, 1922. He graduated from the Gunnison Valley high school and attended the University Univer-sity of Utah until June 1942, when he joined the army air corps. He was commissioned Oct. 1, 1943, at Williams Field, Arizona, and was sent overseas in April 1944. Lieutenant Bardsley was an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was first Eagle Scout in the Gunnison ward. Surviving with his parents is one sister, Mrs. Beth Workman of Delta, Utah, and a brother, Kent Bardsley of Gunnison. Relatives from Moroni who were in attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Anderson, Mrs. Orson Forgason, Mrs. Ephraim Nelson, Mr. andMrs. Ted Johnson, Mrs. Heler Sanderson and Mr. and Mrs. Rodney L. Anderson. Sgt. Ellis Christensen returned home Tuesday from the U. S. Service with an honorable discharge dis-charge from the U. S. Army and is happy to be with relatives and friend again. Mrs. Will Brandon of Layton, Utah is visiting with her mother and family, Mrs. George Draper. She came to be in attendance at her mother's 82nd birthday anniversary, where many relatives rela-tives and friends called during the day to extend to her their best wishes. She was well remembered re-membered with gifts, and after pleasant social chats, all enjoyed delicious refreshments. The Mothers and Daughters annual Banquet was held last Friday evening in the Moroni high school and was an outstanding out-standing success. There were over 500 people in attendance. Several Moroni people attended attend-ed funeral services last Monday for Mrs. Caroline M. Hansen Bough at Fountain Green. |
