Show Snow theatre educator gets $1,000 scholarship to earn masters of education degree EPHRAIM Snow College Professor Kim Christison recently was awarded the Barbara Arnold Master of Education Scholarship from Westminster which totals $1,000. Christison, who has been a theatre educator at Snow College for 19 years, currently has his Master of Fine Arts and a PhD in theatre. He has been attending Westminster for a year and an half and will finish in 1999. Christison commented, Tnja teacher and I want to be the best teacher I can be. There is to such thing as a terminal degree! : It Christison attends' college twice a week and continues to be e a professor. Going to college has been a labor of love for him, because it is something he does on his own time. "Learning never ceases," Christison stated, and also added that his next goal may be a Doctorate in Education. full-tim- Ftn news by Jessie Oldroyd FOUNTAIN GREE- N- The annual Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt was held in the city park on April 11. Over 720 turkey eggs were cooked, colored and marked by Larry Gilgen. Other Lions Club members, June Garrison, Mary Gilgen, Scott Gilgen, Judy Zum-wal- t, Louis and Dorothy Cook and Aaron Lund hid the eggs for the children to find. At 10 a.m., the signal was given for the hunt to begin. If children found an egg with a Lions Club member name on it received a $1 bill. The Ronald L. Ivory Family held their annual Easter celebration, with a family dinner, Easter egg hunt, and games. They also attended the annual city party. Family members traveled as far as Woods Cross to the north and Cedar City from the south to attend the annual event. SPRING CIT- Y- Sarah Dye Pedersen celebrated her 80th birthday on April 11, 1998, with a party given by her family and friends at her home. She was bom April 19, 1918, in Wales to Samuel Rees and Mary Viven Lamb Dye. She attended schools in Wales and Moroni and graduated from Moroni High School. She worked in Salt Lake City and met and married George F. Anderson. They later divorced. She moved back to Wales and married Clarence J. Pedersen, Spring City, on Nov. 2, 1953. Their marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple on March 19, 1983. He died on Jan. 14, 1994.
