Show STEAMER ON. SHOALS. Passengers and Crew Have Narrow Escape From Death. New York With 408 passengers and a crew of 100 men aboard, 'the Fabre line steamship Roma was driven driv-en on the shoals of No Man's Land near Martha's Vineyard Monday. A seventy-mile blizzard needled with snow increased the peril. But at 10:20 o'clock after the "S. O. S.'' call by wireless had been flashing for five hours over sea and land, the high tide, aided by a tug that had battled out from New London, floated the vessel. |
