" Mrs. Candland, daughter of Abraham Ab-raham R. and Mary Ann Brocker-man Brocker-man Wright, was born in Philadelphia. Philadel-phia. Pennsylvania, May 14, 1IJ-1 1IJ-1 She with her parents joined tne L D S. Church in Ohio and in 1856, August 10, started for Utah, arriving in Salt Lake Novermber 2, of the same year. They traveled under the leadership leader-ship of Abram O. Smoot. She was married on March . 1857 to David Candland, In th endowment house. In the year 1861 the Candlands were called by Brigham Young to assist in the settling and colonization coloniz-ation of Sanpete County, locating first in Mt. Pleasant, later in Chester Ches-ter and finally again In this city. Her husband died in 1902.
