Show Mrs. Miranda Peel Oman Celebrates 85th Birthday One of this city's leading pioneer pio-neer wcmlcn, Mrs. Miranda Seely See-ly Peel Oman, observed her eighty -fifth birthday anniversary anniver-sary Monday at her home, 450 West Main street. (Born in San Bernardino, California, Cal-ifornia, in 1857, she cajne with eier 'parents, Justus W. and Clarissa Jane Wilcox Seely, to Mt. Pleasant, then Fort Haem-Dletion, Haem-Dletion, .with, the original settlers set-tlers in 1859, and has spent her entire life in this city. She was one of the first presidents of ithte M W M I A of the L D S church and later served more than xii'ty years as a Relief Society teacher. She is a charter imem-oer imem-oer of the Mt. Pleasant Pioneer Historical association and served serv-ed many years as a director. She was married December 29, 1877 to Christian Frederick Peel of Mt. Pleasant in the Endowment En-dowment house in Salt Lalke Ci.y. They iwere tlhe parents of dhree sons and one daughter. Mr. Peel died December 17, 1894, and on February 21, 1899, she was married to Aaron G. Oman. Ha died Jury 17, 1917. H.r only daughter, Mrs. Arthur F. Rasmussen, iwas (killed in' aeo automobile accident on the Fish lake dugway July 13, 1935. She has a foster daughter, Mrs. Sarah Seely Beal of Manti; Man-ti; three sons, P. Azel PeeL O. Fred Peel and John H. Peel, all of Mt. Pleasant; 32 grandchildren grandchil-dren and 12 great-grandchildren. Three of her grandsons, Owen and Perry Peel and Ben Rasmussen, Ras-mussen, are 'now serving with .he U. S. armed forces.
