Corn Meal Griddle Cakes Eggless, Milkless, Butterless IV3 cups corn meal - Cclk IVa cups boiling water cup milk 1 cup brown sugar y2 teavoon salt 1 tablespoon shortening: 14 cups water 1 teaspoon nutmeg: 1 tablespoon molasses 1 cup seeded raisins 1 teaspoon cinnamon bs cup flour 2 ounces citron, cut fine 1 cup flour '1 teaspoon salt Vz cup shortening 1 cup rye flour 4 teaspoons Royal Baking Powder 6 teaspoons Eoyal Baking Powder NO EGGS j),,; sugar, water, fruit, shortening, salt and spices Scald corn meal in bowl with boiling water; add milk, together in saucepan 3 minutes.
