Our newest member, Howard Andrews, was welcomed. He replaces Joyce Dearden, whose term has expired. Joe Warner, Chairman of the Fillmore Hospital Governing Board, and Randy Probst, Assistant Hospital Administrator, explained the plans for the proposed hospital and presented a petition of annexation for the land on which the new hospital is to be located. As required, this petition was signed by landowners of the area adjacent to the hospital land. This represented over 13 of the dollar value of the land affected. A policy declaration must still be completed. It was decided, by a narrow margin, that the City Planning Commission would recommend approval to the Gty Council that this land be annexed. This approval is contingent upon farther study, a public hearing, and receipt of the policy declaration. The meeting adjourned at 9:22 p.m. Next meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. on May 12.
