tasks appropriate to their age les el After spending a childhood locked in a cnb without a family to educate lose or nurture them many suffer from a wide variety of acute and chronic health problems It is heartbreaking to think of how many children across the w orld are being deprived of basic physical and emotional needs the most precious and essential ingredients of life bethcr it’s been to help a child or to build their famihes several people in East Millard County have turned to Focus on Children Focus on Children is an adoption agency that deals with international adoptions in countries across the world including Russia China Bulgaria Ckraine Bobs ia and the Pacific Islands Don and Juliana Probert of Scipio were the first from Millard to adopt through Focus They adopted Curtis from a Russian orphanage when he wasjust ten and half months old Me is now six and has been a wonderful addition to their family When asked what advice she would give to those ho are considering international adoption Juliana started "Just do it'" Randy and Joyce Coats of Holden heard about a little girl in Russia who wanted a home their hearts w ere touched and they Marcia Marcia problems but didn't know that he was deaf For a year he had been sedated and basically left alone he couldn't stand or walk The Russians couldn’t understand s why anyone would want a child but the Stott's felt strongly about Kody and still wanted to go through with the adoption After returning to Utah to Primary Children’s they took Kody Hospital for weekly consultations until his basic health was stabilized Kody is now recovering from surgery on his legs and is learning to walk with the help of braces and crutches He still needs cochlear implants but the family has been unable to raise enough money for the pensive operation and frustrating insurance restrictions hase limited badly needed benefits However the Stott's feel that Kody has a special spirit and he is given plenty of love and attention They have not lost hope that he will somehow have the surgery that might enable him to hear Stacy 's aunt JoAnn Turner was also interested in adopting A single morn she found it was difficult to adopt within the states With the help and influence of her friends family and Focus on children JoAnn traveled to Russia and brought all Marcia Coats home Brady The adoption process took only nine months JoAnn has fulfilled her dream of being a mother and Baby Brady has a home With tears in her eyes Sue Koyle Stacy’s mother remarked “I hase been to Russia three times now go over there and just cry and want to bring all of the children back with me There are just so many that need help1” Focus on Children is founded by Karen and Scott Banks and Danalee Thomock If you would like more
