College Jan to visit her parents Don and Alice Sorensen and family She brought her JeanAnne roommate Erickson and their Itiend Jennifer Thompson to enjoy visiting the Sorensen family Grant Rasmussen came from Salt Lake City Dec 24 and took his mother Vela Rasmussen back to his home to spend Christmas with him his wife Melba and children She really enjoyed being with them and seeing the excitement of the little grandchildren with their gifts from Santa Claus The next day another son Don and his wife Lynn of Bountiful brought Vita home On Sat Dec 27 Vet a had all of het children and their families meet at her home for their annual Christmas party Others besides Don and Grant and families were I eland and Georgia Birch of Mapleton Myrledean and Bruce Bow n of Manti Grant and Carol Frandsen of Delta Gary and GacDean and Jean and Bill Jackson of Fillmore and their families family members were present to enjoy the delicious food fun and visiting On Jan 10 Myiledean Bovvn came from Manti to visit her mother That same day Grant and Carol Bill and lean and Gary and Gae and children arrived to go snowmobiling and enjoy our fit si big snow of the season Veta made a huge kettle of chili which she docs especially well The others all brought food which was consumed by hungry snowmobilers etc All returned to that evening except Myrledean who stayed until Sun Jan We are very happy Veta is feeling well now Says she is feeling great after quite a spell of not feeling up to par right after the New Year began Maybe this news seems a little stale to some readers but to others it is “News" Alden Robinson served Christmas dinner to his parents Mr's Ralph (Leah) Robinson and Grandma Freda Christensen (Leah’s mother) Brenda's father Rodger Peterson Ralph’s cousin Ruthmaiy Brower anil Alden and Brenda’s children Scott Susie and Sally The children were anxious to play with their Christmas gifts but they also were happy to do little rands to help Mom and Dad with dinner for their guests The family enjoyed the delicious dinner and being ablCto 'Visit each other Alter having a great time during the holidays the young college people have returned to their schools Paula Chiistenscn took her daughter Lee Ann to Provo where it is back to BYU Mark Edison finished his military trainin time to Sill Oklahoma ing at I join his wife Delinda Fuller Edison the fore pan of Dec After Christmas and the holidays they went to Cedar City where Mark is enrolled as a student at SUSC Candace Swallow also returned to that school Then over to pliraim at Snow College were Alicia Bundy Morrell Swallow and Diane Sorensen laren Robison is also at BYU this semester Scott Jones is in his second year at BYU and ecinda Fuller and Dale Robinson are at USU year number 2 for both A number of these young people gave very fine talks in Saciament Meeting while they wetc lieie for the holidays Well Rex and Lynn Allen did it again Jail 21 They took their van and several people to the Provo LDS Tem- - 29 1987 Lula George has returned home following her vacation in Calif Her daughter Faye Kesler and husband Calvin drove her to the Salt Lake Airport on Dec 20 to catch her plane which was an hour late due to fog She was met in San Francisco by her son Lee and wife Amy who took her to their home in Roseville CA where she was their guest for the Christmas Lula enjoyed her grandholidays children and a great grandchild who were home for Christmas Joining the family on Christmas were Lula’s daughter Judy and her son from Modesto CA Lula accompanied Judy to Modesto on Dec 26 where she spent another ten enjoyable days While there she isited some of her dear out to dinner with some of them Amy drove to Modesto to take Lula back to Roseville where she spent the remainder of her vacation On Jan 17 1987 Lula boarded the plane in San Francisco for her return trip She was met at S L Airport by Faye and Calvin She reports having pie for two sessions Accompanying them were Garn Turner Archie Christensen Kevin and Marlene Christensen and Michael Sorensen Nlrs Jerry Freeman and Addison were Salt Lake City visitors on business there Jan 21 Dean Allen and wife Shirley went to West Valley City Jan 21 to see licit new little granddaughter Trisha Kae who was born Jan 17 She weighed 6 pounds 3 ounces and was 19 inches long Her parents are Acel and Vicki Allen Butcher and she has three sistets to adore and help spoil her Otliet grandparents are Mrs Dean Butcher of Salt Lake City and great grandmother Ruth Allen of Flowed Dean Allen came home Jan 22 leaving Shirley to help out with the new baby and family for a week On Jan 18 Mrs Arthur Allen Mrs Avalon Johnson Mrs Dean Allen and his mother Ruth Allen went to Delta to attend a missionary faiewell testimonial in the 2nd Watd Chapel lot their nephew Vance Terrell He will serve in the Illinois Chicago Mission His parents are Clark and Nina Allen Terrell both former Flowed residents Smith Robinson and his wife Marie stopped in to visit her sister Veta Rasmussen Veta said it was a very happy surprise for her She didn’t know they were in her area The Robinsons had been to Cedar City to attend funeral services for his sister They spent the night with Vita traveling on to their home in Ely the next day Frafik Bauer Jr came by plane Jan 9 to the Salt Lake International Airport where he was met by his wife Katie and little daughter Crystal The latter two had been here for a month helpFrank Sr and ing her Dolly Bauer who were both very id Katie had driven here from her home in Colorado Her husband came to accompany Katie and Crystal back home because of the big snow and possibly bad driving conditions We received word from Jean Neilson of Aurora that her father Newel Olson of Axled passed away Jan 18 in the Services were hospital at Gunnison held Jan 22 in Axtell at 12 noon Newel and his wife Aleene visited at Clear Lake where Jean and Don lived many years while Don was supervisor of the Fish and Game Wildlife refuge there Jean was a loving caring She called het father and daughter Aleene every day often making personal visits to them every few days This writer as wed as others here had met the Olsens a number of times who were gracious and radiated their love had a very nice trip returning to Kanosh to a lot of snow but glad to be home On Tuesday Jan 13 1987 Dathel Glen Lilly and little Lorelei Whitaker left Kanosh to travel to Fallon Nevada Glen Lilly and Lorelei were guests of Mrs Dee Johnson and family Dathel divided her time between her sons John Mike and families enjoyMike’s and ing her eight grandchildren John’s second jobs which are both teresting and miserable are being called out anywhere from midnight to early morning to load tanks of fish from the lake about 20 miles from Fallon Quite often they have the job of delivering these tanks of fish to San Francisco On teturning back from one of these fishy jobs Mike reported to his mother that the ice had to be broken that morning to get at the fish The Whitakers enjoyed attending church meetings on Sunday with their families and friends Four Wards meet in their new Stake House awaiting the completion of a new
