on his 80th birthday The open house will be held Saturto 3 pm at the day Jan 25 from Leamington LDS Ward Mr Dutson was born at Leamington Utah Jan 29 1906 son of Caleb and Christina Dutson He was a middle child of eight children Rulon grew up with love for farming and his early years were filled with the dream of having his own farm He tried hard to save a little of the hard earned waged from several jobs (many of them at the same time) toward this goal He worked many days on the McIntyre Ranch at the Chaffin Rock share cropping on various Quarry farms for wages ranging from $1 50 to $325 per day His dream was realized in 1939 when he scraped up $300 for a down payment on a farm in Leamington He did not seek to add acres to his farm but to crease it’s productivity by good farming practices until he worked one of the best producing farms in the area He was selected and honored as Millard County’s Conservation Farmer of the year in 1956 He was also active in the building trade a constructed three homes of his own as well several homes and farm buildings in the area His home and farm buildings reflect his abilities in this area He was active in church leadership serving in most of the auxiliaries and was Bishop of Leamington Ward In 1983 the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce honored as one of the Area Giants His is loved and respected by his Merrill Dutson family 3 children Elwood Dutson RiverLeamington ton UT and Mrs Ray (Luella) Barton Salt Lake City 14 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren He and his wife the late Eva Jorgensen Dutson spent many days and traveled a great many miles to be with members of the family for special occasions Reminder There will be an open house for Charlie Thomas' 90th birthday on Sat Jan 25 1986 from 6 to 9 pm in the Delta trip to Florida She went with Marlow and Carol Cropper of Las Vegas NV They took several sightseeing trips and Louise said “it was just beautiful and a wonderful trip” Norman and Susan Henke spent the UT where weekend in St George Susan attended a workshop for her Sunshine Generation Group John and Louise Christian from Pioche NV visited over the weekend at Delta with their daughter and family Liz and Jim Wiscombe and daughter Jamie Fon and Stella Hawley went to Bountiful where they visited with children and also attended a reception in honor of their grandson and his new bride Devin Carling son of Dale and Patsy Carling of Bountiful and Hannah Gay York daughter of Mrs York of Magna were united in marriage on Jan 4 and after their honeymoon a reception was held on Jan 11 at the York Residence at Magna It was a very Best wishes to the lovely affair newlyweds Barbara Brown Louise Cropper and Coleen Smith spent a couple of days in Salt Lake where they had Dr appointments The program for Sacrament Meeting Sunday consisted of talks by High Councilman Norman Henke and his Ray Madsen A piano selection was given by Jodi Petersen daughter of Bruce and Lynette Petersen Ormus and Winona Dutson spent a couple of days at St George UT where they visited with their son Gill Dutson Gayla Black from Salt Lake City spent the weekend visiting with her father Waldo Black Bishop Robert Allred was in Salt Lake City Thursday and Friday to attend business meetings for Allred Equipment Company Dean and Jackie Black left Monday for an extended trip to the Southern parts of Utah and California Clayton and Denise Palmer are spending a few days in Las Vegas NV at the home of their daughter Sharee and her husband and two sons and Scott and Shelly Stanworth daughter spent a few days in Calif Varlo and Betsy Cahoon and family have moved to St George where Varlo has employment Sherry Bunker has returned to Los Angeles where she has employment She came home for the holidays and stayed longer for a visit with her parents Reed and Anna Mae Bunker Myrle Bennett is home after a visit in Magna with her daughter LaPreal Hansen We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for all
