Mr. Wrathai: ttlnks that the Leamington soil, like most eastern Millard county towns, 1 has been built by a river or a con-1 con-1 yon stream. The Parent Class of the Sunday School was the source of our obtaining these valuable wells. Thanks to the Sunday Sun-day School: Luther llurbank said: "If we had paid no more attention to our platna than we have to our children we would now be living In a jungle of weeds." Since the students of our school have begun their plant study they have become quite familiar with about 25 common weed. They found that the salt bushes grew on marshy, salty land. Koll containing alkali seems to be a favorable place for It ta grow. We found four varieties within a radius of two miles. Some of It Is light green, while one variety is of a bright sliver color. It Is quite shrubby, ss the largest we found was about a foot In height. We learned that the salt bush ate up the alkali In the soil and for this reason making It salty to the taste. It has proven to be a good winter forage. Get rid of your weeds! The presidential election held by the students of our district school waa spiced by political Ulka given by the atudents. The result of the bal-lottlng bal-lottlng was aa follows: William If. Ttft, 1; Wood row Wilson, S; Theodore Theo-dore Roosevelt, 33. |
