Second Ward News EDDYS BARBEN Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Pace have returned home from a two week vacation trip to the Hawaiian Islands. While there they stayed five nights it Honolulu and saw all the outstanding sights there. Then they rented a car and toured the outer islands and saw all the wonderful won-derful sights. While on the Island of Kauai a hurricane hit with winds up to 90 miles an hour, also, hard rains. The whole island w as without with-out lights that night. Grayce said she was really scared and glad when it was over. Even so, she said it was a fabulous trip and a wonderful won-derful experience. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Penman of Salt Lake have been visiting with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Larsen. During the week, the Gordon Bishops and son, Paul were in Provo for a day. Recently Mrs.Marge Cox entertained enter-tained the Rookette Club at her home. An Oriental theme was followed in the decorations and food. Guests were Marge Riding, Erma Cropper, Kathy Cropper and Karolyn Warnick. Prizes were won by Anna Lou Stanworth, Jeannie Taylor, Kelly Talbot and Kathy Warnick. Donnie Rose Morgan, foster daughter dau-ghter of the Waldo Warnicks and Laurie Louder, daughter of the Boyd Louders, were honored for their birthdays at the Waldo War-nicks, War-nicks, Donnies' 13th and Laurie's 11th. Jared Simisky has returned to Provo where he attends BYU, after visiting withhis parents and sisters the Stan Simiskys. Waldo Warnick, Jr. took a group of Ensigns out to Antelope for a camping trip on the weekend. Richard Warnick went with them. Rich Cropper, son of the Gay-len Gay-len Croppers is now able to attend at-tend school after his operation on his hips and legs and being in a cast at home for several months. Mrs. Cleone Talbot, Hinckley elementary school teacher, I am very happy to report has recovered so well from her recent heart at-tak at-tak and hospitalization that she ie able to be out and about. Cluff Talbot accompanied Carl and Ken Ashby to Denver recently recent-ly to a Cattlemen's Convention. Sunday night, the Wesley Morris family gave the program in church. Wesley and Evelyn, their children and grandchildren took part with talks and musical numbers. Eddie gave some excellent numbers, singing sing-ing and accompanying himself on the guitar. The Morris's daughter Sherry and Leon Lewis and three children of Salt Lake attended. The Lewis's also visited with Leon's parents, the Lee Wilsons. Ralph Gronning of Salina came last week to visit his mother, Mrs. LaFay Corey and to help her. Her basement got flooded, tipping her storage of fool all over and Ralph came to help take care af this and get it cleaned and streightened up. Elma Kay and Wayne Jones of St. George visited with their parents, Karl and Arvilla Workman. Karl was in West Millard Hospital. The Jones and Arvilla went to Provo to visit with Arvilla's father who is seriously ill. Congratulations to Jeannie Draper, Drap-er, daughter of the Clark Drapers, formerly of Delta, and sister of Valyn Dutson, in her accompolish-ment accompolish-ment of being named, thru her accompolishments, as a State Jr. Miss Contest entrant and being one of the 20 semi-finalists. Valyn was in Salt Lake for the final day of the contest and she attended the awards banquet. Larry and Shirley Clark, Raymond and Kirsten Jenkins and boys visit-relatives visit-relatives in Hinckley and attended to business matters in the Delta area, Saturday, the 24th. Mrs. Clara Stewart entertained the Literary Club at her home this week. After a luncheon was served Elaine Hardy gave the evening's entertainment of a variety of articles ar-ticles and stories. Valentine Day, Saturday, Feb. 14th is the date, the occasion will be a big ward party (Building fund project). It will be held in the elementary school gym. This is to be a Valentine dance and supper. $1.00 per person. A floor show will be presented. Invite all your friends and relatives. This will be an enjoyable time for everyone. Mr. and Mrs. Frances Petty of Nevada visited with Blaine Theobald Theo-bald this past week. Mrs. Pat Warnick is visiting with her folks in Payson for a week. Donna Warnick and her fiancee, Floyd Lyle of Nevada, visited with Donna's family, the Walido War-nicks War-nicks and other family members. Fern Hepworth has had her daughter, Beth and- husbond of Tooele to see her and their family. Russell Talbot and friend, Kay Robison of Flowell, who both attend at-tend BYU, were down on the week end to see their families. Kay was a guest at the Talbot home and Russell took her to Flowell where she visited her family. Mrs. Reva Talbot attended an In-termountain In-termountain Farmers Company meeting in Salina Thursday night. Gordon Chatwin left Monday to fly to Missouri where he is attending attend-ing an electrical school for the company he is working for. Lafe and Mario Nielson of Salt Lake came down Sunday to visit with the Wesley Morris family. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wells of Sun set visited with Mrs. Golda Talbot last week for a day. Mrs. Wells was a sister of Golda's husband.
