Show Crack Shot Pulls Dead-Eye Bead On 3 Insulators The Telluride Power company reports only 3 insulators shot off on their power line so far this deer season, a pretty low average with the woods full of guns and gunners. Whoever did the shooting, it was not a stray shot that did the damage, dam-age, but a barrage of well placed, studied and leisurely bulls-eyes. For the 3 insulators, all on one pole, were practically demolished as upports for the lines. The damage was" discovered on Monday, Oct. 18, by some of the men on their way to Nephi. The Telluride crew was sent up later to put on new insulators. The pole that formed the target was No. 591, above Leamington, in the canyon, just beyond the new bridge. With the insulators shot off if a storm had come up, the whole system could have burned out. There is still $100 reward offered by the company for information leading to the apprehension of such malefactors. With west Millard fully aware of what damage oan be caused locally by a failure in the power system, it seems unlikely that one of them would have done the shoot ing. More likely some disgruntled out-of-town hunter must have thot he spied a buck behind the insulators insul-ators and had some unused shells , to spare. |
