Show Birthday Ball March of Dimes Big Successes Two Events Raise $935.96 to Combat Infantile Paralysis Mrs. Clark Bliss, chairman of the recent drive for funds to combat infantile paralysis, reports that West Millard raised $934.96 in the March of Dimes and the two Birthday Birth-day dances held in this section. A total of $442.88 was raised in the March of Dimes. The Delta Birthday Birth-day dance raised $269.88 and the Topaz dance raised $222.20, making a total of $492.08 in the two events. This amount is computed without with-out the returns from Lynndyl and Leamington which will run the total to-tal well over $1000. The March of Dimes was carried through a long period of time with the schools, business houses and pool halls displaying containers for people to put money in. Mrs. Bliss, as chairman, thanks those who helped in the March of Dimes by raising such a large sum. The two birthday dances were held the last week in January with the first dance on January 28 at Topaz and the second at Van's Hall in Delta on January 29th. Both dances drew exceptionally large crowds. A floor show was preesnt-ed preesnt-ed at Topaz, and refreshments wore served. The money collected in this recent, re-cent, drive will be sent into national nation-al headquarters within a short time to aid in the war against infantile paralysis. |
