Show Laura L. D. Sherwood Funeral services for Laura Lucretia Davis Sherwood, 62, who died Thursday of last week at the Accredited Hospital for Chronic Illnesses, Provo, were held Sunday afternoon in the Minersville L D S Chapel, under direction of Bishop Marshall Hollingshead. Mrs. Phyllis Truman played the prelude and postlude music, and the prayer at the home was offered by Delos Baker. Musical and vocal numbers on the program were given by a quartet, Lee Marshall, Mar-cine Mar-cine Davis, Milton Albrecht and Harold Baker; Ileen Jameson and Alveretta Robinson; Sylvia Davis and Vivian Marshall. Speakers were Ruben Dotson and Ira Fisher, and Anna Ray Carter read Mrs. Sherwood's history. The invocation was by Jule Gillins and the benediction by Merrill Jameson, and Lorraine Gillins dedicated the grave in the Minersville cemetery. Mrs. Sherwood was born Feb. 3, 1894, in Minersville, to W. J. and Helena Colton Davis. She was married to Martin V. Sherwood on Feb. 22, 1910, at Beaver. She spent her life in Minersville, Miners-ville, and was a devoted mother and an ardent church worker. Survivors include her husband, hus-band, one son and six daughters: daugh-ters: Jimmie M. Sherwood and Mrs. Nora Wright, South Milford; Mil-ford; Mrs. Rhoda Ramsey, Martinez, Mar-tinez, Calif.; Mrs. Eva Meeks and Mrs. Mabel Beebe, Richmond, Rich-mond, Calif.; Mrs. Donna Burn-ham, Burn-ham, Sandy; Mrs. Hazel Rogers, Kearns; 18 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. |
