Show Funeral Is Held On Sunday For Mrs. J. C. Root Impressive funeral services were i held Sunday afternoon at the local , I.. P. S. chapel for Mrs. J. Cass I Riot, who died January 27th of heart trouble, from which she hail been a long-time sufferer. The services, conducted by Bishop M. J. Christensen, wore attended by a large number of relatives and j friends with many from but of ! town, the chapel and also the j emergency seating of the recrea-i recrea-i tion hall being filled to capacity. I The floral pieces were especially noticeable for their profusion and j beauty, all going to show the high I regard in which Mrs. Root, her I husband and other relatives are j held by everyone. Speakers at the services were I former Bishop William A. Miller ! of Beaver and E. R. Moody, prin-j prin-j cipal of the Milford high school. Musical numbers consisted of selections by the American Legion Auxiliarv quartet, comprised of Mrs. J. H. Weston, Mrs. J. M. Hughes, Mrs. Lee Gray and Mrs. Walter Josephs and vocal solos by Alvin 11. Baker and Mrs. Gray. The opening prayer was offered by Rudolph Xielsen and the benediction by Bishop Christensen. A large cortege of cars foil: wed the hearse to Beaver, Bea-ver, where interment took place and where another large bank of flcral offerings was in evidence. Burial services were under the direction of the American Iecion Auxiliary, with the grave being dedicated by an uncle of the deceased, de-ceased, Kent Morgan of Beaver. Mrs. Clara Skinner Root was born at Beaver July 5, lfOT, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Skinner,' but htr motller dying when "Cal" was three years old, she had made her home with her sister, Mrs. W. A. Moore, from the time she was 11 years old until her marriage, receiving all (the love and consideration of a child of their cwn from both Mr. and Mrs. Mcore. She and Mr. Root were married October 4, 1934, at Beaver by County Clerk Miller, and their life together had been one of ideal love and companionship, for her cheefulness and courage Surviving Mrs. Root are her husband, hus-band, J. Cassidy Root, Milford postmaster; . her father and stepmother, step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Skinner, Skin-ner, McGill, Nevada; and two sisters, sis-ters, Mrs. W. A. Moore of Milford Mil-ford and Mrs. Wallace Outzen of Minersville. Outoftown people in attendance at the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Skinner, 'Mr. and Mrs. Outzen and family, Mrs. Theo Christensen cf Elsinore, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. David of Provo, Mrs. Walter Scott and Mrs. Vem Ro-chek Ro-chek of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Kent Morgan and sens, William Morgan and daughter Norma and S. O. White of Beaver; Mrs. Ada Stewart of Pocatello, : Idaho; and Mrs. and Mrs. Lewis Root, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fife, j Mr. and Mrs. Claude Urie and Mr. ! and Mrs. Wood Urie of Cedar City. Loved by all who knew "Cal" j for her cheerfullness and courage I and for her pleasing personality, ; despite her recurrent illnesses, the sympathy of the entire com- ' I munity goes out to those bereaved ' by her passing. |
