Show SOCIETY Mrs. Heslington Gives Kensington Mrs. Mel Heslington entertained the members of her club at her home Thursday evening. A pleasant time was spent in sewing and a dainty luncheon was enjoyed by Alyoe Schow, Delia Kirk, La Rue Davis,, Leal) Richards, Jean'ette Tvohler, R.eva Mat- tingly and the hostess' -'mother,, Mrs. Harry Ward. Dinner Bridge Gut Mrs. William Broyles will entertain the members of the Dinner ' Bridge Club at her home Saturday evening, February 9. American Legion Auxiliary On Thursday evening, February 7, Mrs. Tom Johansen charmingly entertained enter-tained the ladies of the American Legion Auxiliary. A jolly time was spent in playing games after which a delicious luncheon was served. Pierian Club Mrs- Bruce Allyn entertained the j Pierian Club at her home Monday ev-1 ening, January 28, with nearly all ! members responding to roll call. Also present for the evening were the guests, Mrs. Bert Price and Mrs. Ross Smith. Mrs. Bardsley conducted the English Eng-lish class, which was more Latin than English, as it had to do with Latin phrases and words in common usage. Mrs. Nichols gave an interesting article ar-ticle and Mrs. Smith favored with a short description of her trip to Yuma,' Arizona. Delicious refreshments were served, after which the hostess was pleasantly pleasant-ly surprised with many lovely handkerchiefs hand-kerchiefs gifts as a parting remembrance remem-brance of her stay in Milford. The next meeting will be at Mrs. Outzen's. Kensington Mrs. Bert Price was hostess at a Kensington at her home Thursday evening, ev-ening, January 31, in honor of Mrs. Bruce Allyn, who is leaving soon to make her home in Salt Lake City. Those bidden were the Mesdames Willard Nichols, D. A. Baxter, R. B. Young, L. G. Clay, Ross Smith, E. L. Bardsley. A most delicious luncheon lunch-eon was served.. Valentine deccorations were effectively used throughout the home. Those present were Mes-dames Mes-dames Jeffers, Frank Gardner, Warren War-ren Bain, Cuddy, Kinney, James, Gillies, Gil-lies, Sloan, Morley, Chanslor, Moore, M. P. Lewis, Chanslor, Lang-enbackef, Lang-enbackef, Rogers, Weston and A. E. Smith. Score prizes were given to Mrs. Lewis, club prize for points; Mrs. Langenbacker, club prize for honors; Mrs. Moore, first guest prize; Mrs. Gardner, second guest prize. Special prizes were won by Mrs. Cuddy and Mrs. Kinney. Mrs. Dawson Entertains Last Friday evening Mrs. W. K. Dawson was gracious hostess to the Ladies of the G. I. A. Members present were Mrs. G. C. Cuddy, Mrs. C. O. Sportsman, Mrs. Jaye Jeffers, Mrs. Otto Steenbock, Mrs. L. B. Wad-dingham, Wad-dingham, Mrs- W. G. White , Mrs. John Hanlon. Invited guests were Mrs. Rose Palmer, Mrs. Wm.Vorhees, Mrs. Merrill Edwards, Mrs. Frank Gardner, Mrs. Frank Farmer, Mrs. Reno McDonald, Mrs. William Cochrane Coch-rane and Miss Margaret Cochrane. An interesting game of Bridge was played, prizes being awarded to Mrs. Cuddy, club prize for points ; Mrs. Sportsman, honors;; Mrs. Gardner, first guest prize; Margaret Cochrane,! second guest prize- A dainty luncheon lunch-eon was served at four small tables. Sunday afternoon little Miss Virginia Vir-ginia Carter gave a party to twelve little friends in honor of her eighth birthday anniversary. Games were played and luncheon enjoyed. ' ' |
