Show MILFORD VALLEY Parlor I No. 21, Past Presidents ot the GI A, held their regular meeting meet-ing and Christmas party at the home of the president, Mrs. Ethel Smith, Dec. 15th. Mrs. Ethel Killam was a co-hostesss. A two-course luncheon was served, and at a short business meeting officers were elected for 1957. New oficers will be Mrs. Eva Banks, president; Mrs. Phyllis Erickson, vice president; Mrs. Virginia Fowles, secretary and treasurer; Mrs. Florence Barnes, chaplain; Mrs. Laura Bradfield, guard. The rest of the evening was spent playing bridge, with Mrs. Banks and Mrs. Barnes winning at cards. Mrs. Garnet Garfield drevv the house prize, and Mrs. Magdalena White and Mrs Margaret Lund the raffles. Mrs. Smith presented each ! members with a personalized tatted towels. The members exchanged ex-changed lovely gifts. Other members present were Marvel Connell, Garnetta Hol-lis, Hol-lis, Catherine Shingleton, and guests Kate McDonald and Margaret Mar-garet Lund- Mrs. Mary Long assisted with the serving. Ji ESCALANTE Auxiliary No. 1546 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars held their annual Christmas Christ-mas party Tuesday evening, at the home o Mrs. Hannah Smith with Mrs. Berniece Stewart as co-hostess- A delicious dinner was served and the table was cleverly decorated in the holiday holi-day moth!. A short business meeting was conducted by President Magdalena Magda-lena White. Lovely gifts were exchanged by the ladies. Members present were Mmes. , ' Myrtle Tribole, Theresa Pitch-forth, Pitch-forth, Magdalena White, Nina Bingham, Susan Glenn, Florence Flor-ence Kicktrson, Maude Mills, Sarah Alice Griff itlis, Frances Kinross, Ethel Smith, and the two hostesses. ON TUESDAY, Dec. 18, the Sewing Club members enjoyed a Christmas dinner at the Hong Kcng Cafe- Following the dinner din-ner they met at the home of Mrs. lone Baxter and the rest of the evening was spent playing play-ing 500. Prizes were won by Mrs. Lucy Reese, Mrs. Florence Beard and Mrs. Vvs Baxter. The members exchanged Christmas gifts, and Mrs. Baxter Bax-ter served a very delicious dessert des-sert and h;,t drink. Members present were Mmes. Olive Root, Clysta Hutchings, Verna Tomsik, Florence Beard, Lucy Reese, Vvs Baxter, Mary McCulley, Thelma Gillins, Irene Griffiths, Emma Griffiths, and Josephine Killam. THE AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY held their regular business meeting and Christmas party in St. Bridget's Recreation hall Dec. 17th. The meeting was conducted by Jerry Kirk, president. Ida Smith, National Security chairman, reported the stamp sales would be started in the Elementary school right after the holidays- Lillian Anderson, Civil Defense chairman, reminded remind-ed the members that the second lesson on first aid, conducted by Miss Hawley, would be given at the meeting in January. Ethel Smith, Rehabilitation and Child Welfare chairman, stated that the clothes drive for the Hungarian Refugees and clotlung for children at home and abroad would start immediately immedi-ately after the New Year. The community will be asked to help i with this drive. Following the meeting, a de-! de-! licious plate lunch was served ' and the exchange of Christmas gifts was enjoyed.
