Show St. Bridget's Church Lists Xmas Services The annual celebration - of I the birth of the Savior is an ' event of greatest importance. t To make us m, ;re fully realize , it:-; significance for all mankind, the Church recalls the darkness of the time before Christ, when the Light o'f th world had not yet appeared. In the liturgy of Advent she recreates in our souls a similar longing for the coming of Christ, the Savior. Figuratively, she prepares our hearts and minds for the great event of Christmas much like the farmer who breaks up his soil, in preparation for a more abundant harvest. Both cultivate culti-vate that the seeds may take firm root. "Fear not; for, behild, I bring you good tidings of great joy, that shall be to all the people: peo-ple: For, this day, is born to you a fpvir.-r who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David . .
