Show ' 6 The Magna Times, Wet Valley New Kearru Chronicle, & May 1 6, 2002 Magna student Sheri Lynn Stowell, of Magna, has been named the Outstanding Scholar of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Southern Utah University in Cedar City. Outstanding Scholars are chosen by faculty based upon CiPA, outstanding performance of academic skills and know ledge, and dcmostralion of terrific potential for future success in the particular discipline. Stowell graduated sumrna cum laude from SUU on P May 4, as part of the Institution's largest graduating class ever, of l,2(X). She received a bachelors degree in Communication. Stowell also was last year's winner of the Elaine C. Southwick Award given by the SUU Student Association. Many Kearns residents w ill remember him when he was at Kearns before. Merla Bybee, assistant principal at Granger High will become the assistant principal at Evergreen Junior High. Jo Harris who is Dona at Evergreen will transfer to Eisenhower as the assistant principal. She will fill the position vacated by the retirement of Dorothy DuTemple. Shelly Pierce, assistant principal at West Lake will go to Jefferson. Joel Dunning will leave Jefferson to go to Bonneville as the assistant principal.
