The Miss Magna Pageant will be held at 7 p.m. at the School High Cyprus Auditorium. But preparations for the pageant began earlier this year when the eight Cyprus students began training for the final pageant. The girls have introduced themselves throughout the city by appearing at Area and Community Council meetings, having lunch with the Chamber of Commerce, visiting with the seniors at the Magna Senior Center and hosting a variety of fundraisers. All monies earned in the fund raisers will go toward providing the contestants with scholarship money. Miss Magna is part of the Miss Utah U.S.A Program. The contestants will participate in a sports- wear, talent, interview and evening gown competitions on May 25 as well as a competition with pageant judges on May 19. The Miss Magna Pageant is part of our Copper Days celebration said Kip Petdrson, coordinator of the pageant and President of Copper Days. She will reign over Copper Days and other events in the city.
