The first of these pro- grams is Parent Anonymous. Parents Anonymous is a nationwide program that was founded in 1970. It is the nations oldest and largest child abuse prevention organization dedicated to strengthening families through innovative strategies that promote mutual support and parent leadership. Parents Anonymous groups are held weekly and are d by parents and professionally trained facilitators and are free of charge to participants. While the parents are meeting, their children are engaged in specialized programs to promote their healthy growth and development. Most impoitantly, this program gives parents a chance to meet together and share their problems, frustrations and triumphs in parenting.
