As the Temple approaches completion it requires more ready means with which to obtain the material required than formerly, hence the necessity of the Saints, continuing energetic measures in the laudable work in hand; but we regret to state, that while our expenses increase, the sources from which we have hitherto obtained our means, have been on the decrease for some time past. It is evident that if we continue our work upon the Temple, we must obtain means to do so, and necessarily we must look to the Saints of this Temple district for the means required. In view therefore of the great work in which we are engaged, we ask the aid and co-operation of the Saints of this district. We are glad to state that the roof of the main building is completed and the carpenters are busily engaged with the inner work, thus the work progresses, and while we are thankful for the past contributions of the Saints, we hope they will give liberally of their means to finish the house of the Lord, that they may share of His blessings. Your brother in the gospel, C. O. Card. |
