Show A FIRE.

Last Sunday just as the services in the Tabernacle had concluded, a column of smoke was seen rising near the College buildings and the alarm of fire was given. Immediately a large crowd started for the place of the conflagration, when it was found that the stable of Mr. Hogland, just north of the College, was on fire, and the flames rising wildly into the air, altogether beyond the control of the lookers on, as the stable was partly filled with dry hay and covered with straw. At the time the fire commenced there were some animals inside the building, but they were rescued without injury. The cause of the fire is unknown, unless some little children were playing with matches and set it afire. Luckily the wind was not blowing and no damage was done to adjacent stacks and property. |
