SALE OF THE MAMMOTH COAL BEDS. Last week a very important transaction was consummated; namely, the sale of the Mammoth coal beds, on Bear River, near Granger, Wyoming. These coal beds had been secured by 76 locators, each of whom had filed on 80 acres, and had thus secured about 15 square miles of territory. The Utah & Wyoming railroad was the purchasers [purchaser]; they are to pay $80,000 for the whole or $1,800? to each locator, simply for his quit claim deed, and $2,000 for expenses in effecting the transfers, recording, &c. Twenty-one of the lucky locators reside in Cache Valley, and fifteen of them in Logan. We congratulate them for a shrewd and fortunate company. Clothing at cost at Z.C.M.I.
