Show REGISTRATION CASES. New York, Jan. 6.-A case of much interest all over the country is to be called before Federal Commissioner Shields to-morrow. Just before the last election Charles E. Simmons and Edward B. Sheeby, the commissioner of charity and correction, were arrested charged with inducting the inmates of New York's pauper institutions to register illegally. The case has twice been called and will now probably be speedily pushed to a conclusion in order to make test cases to the right of paupers to vote in the district in which the institutions are located. |
