from the assigned bus stops or their assigned school If your child must cross the street they shoulc the bus driver to stop traffic and then signal to the student that is safe to cross Even then they parents regarding safe transportation of children to and from school Our drivers arecarefully trained and our safe- RULE RULE RULE RULE RULE We wish to do everything possible to maintain this splendid record We would ask that you help us in this effort by becoming aware of the bus safety rules and making sure your children understand them IN THIS REGARD THE MOST IMPORTANT LAW FOR AUTOMOBILE DRIVERS TO UNDERSTAND IS: “ALL MOTORISTS MUST STOP IN BOTH DIRECTIONS WHEN The only SCHOOL BUS RED LIGHTS ARE FLASHING exception is when you are traveling on the opposite side of a divided highway The flashing red lights are used when children must cross the street when the bus Is loading or unloading or when a hazard exists On the following pages you will find rules regulations and procedures related to riding school buses In the Cache County A Logan City School Districts The rules and regulations come to us from stats law and policies passed by our drivers teachers students and administrators have reviewed revised and come to consensus on these policies It is Important for the safety and comfort of the children that they understand and follow these rules We can serve you and your children better If you will help us by teaching your children the rules In addition we would like you to let your children know that you will support the bus driver in enforcing these rules This effort wlH make riding the school bus a safer and more pleasant experience for all the children Wa in the Cache County A Logan City School Districts desire to do all we can to get children to and from school safety We want to make the trip a pleasant experience so that they arrive at school In a good frame of mine ready arid anxious to I earn Please help your child’s bus driver successfully perform this very Important task Bus drivers have an extremely difficult job trying to watch the road drive safely and still maintain control for the students on the bus Anything you can do to help make 'their job easier will do much to ensure a pleasant and safe trip for your child ty record is outstanding 1 Students shall be on time for the bus both morning and afternoon In the morning they should be at the stop five minutes before scheduled pick-u- p time 2 (Purina cold weather If the bus Is more than 1 5 minutes late students should no back home or to another prearranged home ctoser to the bus stop and watch for the bual The bus drivers will eventually make their run driving very slowly and watching for students who come running out of their homes If parents want to drive their children to school In these situations they may do so These kind of delays should only take piacb ll the bus is broken down stuck or won't start Buses will leave the school In the afternoon 'no sooner than seven minutes after the last bell has run (If buses are thirty minutes late getting home parents should call the school) ( 3 The bus driver shall instruct students how to cross the street Students shall cross the street if necessary 10 feet In front of the bus The bus driver shall also instruct students to stand back 10 feet from the bus stop' Students shall not board the bus until given a signal by the driver 4 If there are no sidewalks available students should walk on the left side of the road facing oncoming traffic when coming to meet the bus 5 For everyone's safety no Item shall be carried on the bus which could create a hazard to any passenger Such items Include but are not limited to: live animals skateboards-skiglass objects The transportation of school projects certain
